Company OverviewEdible Manhattan Group (EMG) owns Edible Manhattan, Edible Brooklyn, Edible Hudson Valley, and Edible Westchester. Our four publications are part of the Edible Communities network of over 90 local food publications across North America.
EMG has exciting plans to innovate our food media properties through content + commerce integration, and has recently debuted a major magazine and website redesign. With this revamp of content comes a new wave of digital advertising opportunity, from traditional web ads, to branded content, email marketing, events sponsorship, and social campaigns. - -
Position DescriptionEMG is seeking a Media Sales Account Executive who will drive digital and print advertising sales and sponsorship revenue for a variety of our businesses.
The Media Sales Account Executive will report directly to the Managing Director.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue via EMG digital and print properties and event sponsorships
  • Develop new business through prospecting and own network of contacts
  • Establish a deep understanding of our digital products, ideate strategic solutions based on client needs
  • Monitor competitive media properties by gathering current marketplace information on advertising and new digital editorial products
  • Maintain and update sales and client activities and opportunities in our CRM system
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts for sales revenue objectives
  • Keep management informed by submitting weekly activity-results reports
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets
    Qualifications
    • 2+ year experience within digital and print advertising sales
    • Deep understanding of digital and print ad sales marketplace and confidence driving opportunity in all contexts
    • True student of the media industry; advertising trends, programmatic landscape
    • List of current and target clients
    • Proven closer of new business
    • Highly organized and strong attention to detail
    • Strong negotiation sales skills
    • Global mindset
    • Previous experience and ability to use a CRM to manage sales and opportunities.
    • Demonstrated presentation, verbal and written skills
    • Ability to listen and contribute as a positive and solution oriented team player
    • Experience with Media/Publication company preferred
    • Knowledge of NY food culture and/or passionate foodies welcome
