Job Description:
The School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences seeks a highly
motivated and energetic full-time instructor to teach a variety of
psychology courses. The successful candidate will demonstrate a
record of:
Innovation and enthusiasm in the classroom;
Collaboration and collegiality among colleagues;
Student-centered approaches to teaching and program
development;
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills;
Experience working with diverse populations;
Integrating cross-cultural and multicultural concepts into all
courses;
Mastery of instructional technology.
Responsibilities include:
Teach 5 courses (15 credits) per semester and hold 5 office hours
per week;
Develop new Psychology courses and assist in updating/revision of
existing courses;
Assist in the assessment, review, and development of the psychology
curriculum;
Provide academic advisement to students;
Keep abreast of trends in higher education and the field of
psychology;
Actively participate in departmental, school, and college-wide
committees and activities;
Demonstrate continuous professional development.

Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - A minimum of a Masters degree in
Psychology is required. - A minimum of one year of college teaching
experience in Psychology as the instructor of record or the primary
instructor is also required. - The successful candidate must have
the ability to teach a variety of Psychology courses. - All
candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and
understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural,
disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic
backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate
to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - A PhD in Psychology and community
college teaching experience in Psychology strongly preferred.

SALARY & BENEFITS: -The starting salary is $66,144 plus excellent
benefits. -
