About the Role:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be working on medical device development as part of a tight knit development team. This role will be designing and selecting parts for the instrument as well as designing test fixtures for development; providing continuous feedback on the development process and accept feedback as well. The ideal candidate would have work experience in being part of engineering team building a medical device. We are looking for a team player who views medical device development as a competitive advantage. What you'll do:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by management.

  • Designing precision motion stages and components, electromechanical system parts and assemblies in CAD environment
  • Generating drawings for parts and assemblies
  • Documentation
  • Modeling and simulation of design components, such as, dynamic system modeling, kinematic modeling, structural, and thermal analysis
  • Building prototypes
  • Finding and managing vendors for prototyping and manufacturing
  • Creating test fixtures including instrumenting with data acquisition systems and programming
  • Unit and system testing of prototype designs
  • Mentoring junior engineers to help in their growth and development
  • Role may require some travelOur Perfect Candidate

    Education and Experience:
    • BSc. in Mechanical, Aerospace, Biomedical Engineering or in an equivalent area
    • 7+ years of experience in the field
    • Medical device development
    • Design experience precision automation
    • Competency in designing large electromechanical system components
    • Proven design record
    • Analytical problem solution skills, such as modeling and simulationsOther Experiences and Knowledge:
      • Working with teams in multiple sites
      • Involvement in automation related extracurricular activities, such as, First Robotics
      • Graduate degree in a related field with dissertation
      • Additive manufacturing, such as 3D printing
      • Histology laboratory workflow experienceRequired Abilities and Skills:
        • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
        • Time management skills to prioritize and meet deadlines
        • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
        • Flexibility to work in a changing and fast paced environment
        • Drive, determination, and ability to hit aggressive milestones/deadlines
        • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and WordCompany Offers:
