The Engineering team at RWE Clean Energy s is responsible for the design layout, drawings and permitting site plans for our PV utility-scale projects in the US and Canada. The PV Design Engineer will play a key role in delivering solar and energy storage projects in alignment with RWE's strategy in North America.Responsibilities:

• Create dedicated PV layout and provide support on constructability and design of layouts
• Utilize performance modeling software to prepare project energy yield assessments and other production profile deliverables such as 8760s and production diurnals
• Analyze meteorological datasets and utilize MCP (measure-correlate-predict) methodology to assess project resource characteristics
• Create permitting site plans and 10% PV design drawings set
• Review PPA, IA and RFPs for internal portfolio projects while supporting interconnection team
• Visit sites to assess buildable area and identifying key red flags for design optimization
• Use internal tools for LCOE optimization of project while collaborating with internal team members
• Work with the finance teams to support project sensitivity analysis and respond to IE questions
• Spearhead multiple team initiatives to support the continued growth of the PV Optimization team. Manage and train junior team membersQualifications:
  • Two or more years of proven experience of PV modeling for utility-scale projects
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, civil, mechanical, or related engineering field. Masters/PhD or PE license preferred
  • Proficiency in layout optimization tools such as Plant Predict, PVCase, PVsyst, and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of NEC and industry codes
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills to manage multiple projects and engineering team initiatives
  • Technical knowledge of inverters/racking required. Experience with batteries a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interface with internal and external stakeholders to meet project deadlines
  • Understanding of project economics to provide PV design with best NPV and IRRPay range: The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $120-145K. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
