US Foods, a foremost leader in foodservice distribution, is seeking a skilled Lead Diesel Fleet Mechanic to oversee the maintenance and repair operations of our extensive fleet. This pivotal role not only ensures that all vehicles operate efficiently and safely but also supports US Foods’ commitment to delivering excellent service to our vast network of customers. This position requires expertise in diesel engine mechanics, a strong leadership background, and an ability to solve complex mechanical problems. By maintaining our delivery trucks, the Lead Diesel Fleet Mechanic directly contributes to our mission of serving America’s foodservice operators with integrity and reliability. Oversee the routine and emergency maintenance of heavy-duty diesel vehicles and related equipment. Supervise a team of mechanics, distributing assignments and ensuring adherence to quality standards. Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other vehicle systems. Conduct regular safety inspections of vehicles and equipment. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and vehicle conditions. Collaborate with management to optimize maintenance procedures and schedules. Manage inventory of parts and supplies, initiating orders when necessary. Proven expertise in diesel engine mechanics and maintenance. Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently. Excellent organizational and communication abilities. Proficiency with maintenance management systems. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k ASE Diesel Certification strongly preferred. Valid CDL License beneficial.
