Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our FBM Reentry Mechanical team in King of Prussia, PA! Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Work closely with engineers, manufacturing and technical management and will be providing the integration, design and technical solutions including payload structures, thermal products and integration of mechanical, propulsion, electrical and RF components • Independently develops and provides mechanical design solutions, of varying complexity, using solid models, detailed drawings, and release of engineering work products via Creo parametric software. • Independently review requirements, from various sources (instrumentation, dynamics, stress, systems, thermal, manufacturing, etc.), to ensure that applicable requirements are flowed into the design of assigned products. • Provides frequent interaction and collaboration with program leadership, analysts, peers, configuration management, and manufacturing, to ensure program requirements and schedules are met. • Drives to completion of program achievements by the release of accurate, error-free, affordable and producible engineering designs. Basic Qualifications • Experience creating 3D designs in CREO or equivalent • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 including GD&T and tolerance stack up analyses. • Familiar with manufacturing processes including documentation, machining, welding, heat treatment, and/or surface treatment and assembly • Active secret clearance Desired skills • Ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent disciplines (systems engineering, electronics, stress/thermal analysis, configuration management, production, test, quality…) • Knowledgeable at a systems level in the areas of stress, propulsion, materials • CPE (certified Principle Engineer) and MRB (Manufacturing Review Board) experience • Experience with flight hardware and ground support equipment design • Hands-on hardware experience • Additive manufacturing experience • Familiar with design for Manufacturability (DFM) • Familiarity with Basis of Estimates (BOEs) Lockheed Martin is an equal opportunity employer. Ability to work remotely Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedule Information Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Security Clearance Information This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
