The role leads an underwriting team including surety territory
managers and field underwriters, managing sales and underwriting
relationships for a surety book of business. Responsibilities
include establishing and maintaining business relationships with
agencies and brokers to drive sales growth and expand distribution.
The primary focus is on underwriting, agency/customer relationship
management, employee engagement, and expense management within a
territory. Underwrites accounts independently based on authority
level and underwriting appetite.
Key Responsibilities:
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to AVP, Surety. Direct reports include surety territory
managers, field underwriters, and underwriting associates.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate degree in business, insurance, or related
field preferred.
License/Certification: Actively pursuing AFSB, CPCU, or related
certifications is desired.
Experience: Ten years of commercial or contract surety underwriting
experience preferred, with significant management and leadership
experience.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills: Extensive knowledge of surety
operations, underwriting practices, and market environments.
Excellent communication, decision-making, and leadership skills are
essential.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies, and
experiences, may take precedence. Staffing exceptions require
approval from the hiring manager's leader and HR Business
Partner.

Overtime Eligibility: Exempt (Not eligible).
Working Conditions: May require extended hours, travel, and
relocation. Valid driver's license required.

- $269,000. Starting range: $152,000 - $228,000, dependent on
