Job Description:
Under general supervision of an AssistantNurse Manager, Head
Nurse, Nurse Manager, or other higher level nurse or healthcare
professional, incumbents of this class provide professional nursing
care inan assigned clinical area, Incumbents are expected to
provide direct nursingcare by assessing patients' needs and
administering treatments, medications andgeneral care according to
nursing and medical orders. Work is subject to shiftassignment over
a 24 hour, 7 days per week period.Supervision is not aregular
responsibility of this class, however, partial supervision may
beexercised over paraprofessional and ancillary staff in the
delegation of somecomponents of the nursing regimen. Does related
work as required Education: Graduate of an accredited school of
nursing.License, Certification,and Registration: Current licensure
inNew York State as a Registered Professional Nurse. Certified in
Basic LifeSupport from the American Heart Association.
