Position Summary: JCCA is seeking qualified Mental Health Clinicians to join the Multi-Systemic Therapy-Family Integrated Transitions (MST-FIT) program, serving juveniles who are currently in placement, at the highest risk of recidivism and in need of complex treatment. The model combines services delivered in the residential treatment setting, an approach called the Integrated Treatment Model (ITM), with MST-based aftercare to provide a smooth transition out of placement and back into the home.The MST-FIT therapist will be a part of a small team of dedicated therapists who work with youth and families on campus and in the community to address challenging behaviors. As a MST-FIT therapist you will carry 5-6 cases at a time, working not only with the youth but with their family and peers as well to achieve lasting outcomes. You will empower families to address problematic behavior and will help youths make life-transforming changes.*Hybrid/Flexible Work ScheduleResponsibilities:Conduct Multi-Systemic Therapy assessments, including review of referral information, identifying and engaging key participants, identifying systemic strengths and weaknesses, and developing an analysi of the fit of problem behaviors within the ecological context.Engage primary caregiver and other key participants in active change-oriented treatment by identifying and overcoming barriers to engagementImplement a problem conceptualization, treatment planning, intervention implementation, case outcome review, and strategy revision procedure using the MST Analytic ProcessMaintain clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts that promote peer and supervisory review and feedback, and that demonstrate compliance with the 9 MST principles and MST analytic processEngage and collaborate with all relevant systems and key participants within each system to maintain alignment throughout MST treatmentProvide direct clinical treatment using methods compatible with MST principles and practicesParticipate in MST training, supervision and consultation activitiesMaintain a flexible schedule to accommodate for service need outside of standard office hoursOther duties as assignedQualifications Required:Master's degree in social work (MSW), marriage & family therapy (MFT) or mental health clinician (MHC) with plans of becoming licensed wtihin one year of employment; limisted permits accepted upon hire - clinical supervison is providedAbility to focus on treatment planning with children and families with the goal of permanencyMust demonstrate the ability to collaborate with client and teams that are culturally and professionally diverseSolid organizational and follow-up skills are requiredQualifications Preferred:Direct use of pragmatic (i.e. structural, strategic and functional) family therapiesIndividual therapy with children and adults using cognitive behavioral techniquesBehavioral therapy targeting school behavior and academic performanceImplementation of interventions within or between systems in youth's natural ecology that affect or influence the behavior of youth (i.e. family, peer, school, and neighborhood)Collaboration and partnership with community agenciesPrevious work providing in home or community based therapy servicesAbout Us:For 200 years, JCCA has sustained its mission of serving vulnerable children and families in need throughout New York.
