Position Summary: The Nursing Program Manager will partner and collaborate with recruitment and nursing leadership to identify and retain top nursing talent for Rochester Regional Health in an effort to meet the needs of the patients we serve. Will collaborate with Human Resources and hiring leaders to implement workforce strategies that include internal and external benchmarking to further identify drivers around nursing recruitment and retention strategies. Will engage resources and expertise from various community sources to ensure the development of school-to-work readiness. Key Responsibilities: --- Oversight of internal nursing programs such as EXCEL, Explorer and ED Fellowship with an emphasis on continued coordination and support of participant needs. --- Partnership with nursing schools and take a leading role in supporting hospital based clinical rotations to ensure an experience where nurses want to become part of the RRH team. --- Work closely with and build relationships with college leaders and adjunct faculty. --- Join College Advisory Boards. --- Partner with recruiters for college visits to nursing departments/classrooms. --- Partner with Recruiting and Nurse Leaders on pipeline candidates and the process for making offers. --- Develop relationships and have direct communication with nursing students that are interested in RRH; help get students into Tech roles, summer internships, GN/RN positions and make them feel like they are wanted at RRH. --- Take part in nurse residency, clinical education of new nurses, skills/competencies. --- Using clinical expertise, partner with Clinical groups on the units with patient care, helping students learn and maintain engagement. --- Follow up on the units with new hires during and after orientation. --- Routine cadence of touchpoints with 1-2 year nurses. --- Act as a supportive role for all existing nurses, both new and tenured, to work on execution of retention activities. --- Form retention committee --- Be resource for any internal employee looking for a career change/move. Help them navigate through local or RRH positions to find the right fit and prevent them from leaving the organization. Desired Attributes: Three years clinical experience preferred. Possession of critical thinking, analytical, teaching/coaching and research skills. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, or ASN with BS in any field, required. BS Nursing or in a health care related field preferred. Required Licensure/Certification Skills: New York State Registered Nurse license required for those with an ASN or BSN EDUCATION LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Rochester Regional Health is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
