Job Title: Pediatric Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric Emergency Department Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent Pediatric Emergency Department experience required License: State Professional Registered Nurse license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Minimum 18 months of nursing experience working in a pediatric emergency department. - Demonstrated level of performance and practice. - Emergency department experience within the past six months. - Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to formulate effective nursing care plans. - Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. - Effective communication skills with patients, families, and hospital personnel. Description: Our emergency department RNs must be ready to care for patients when they need us most. In addition to providing specialized and innovative services, our ED RNs need to be equipped to handle various emergency situations for pediatric patients. Our emergency department nurses are trained to deal with a variety of trauma situations requiring quick and decisive actions. Ideal prospective ED RNs must be able to quickly and accurately assess incoming patients with both physical and mental health conditions. They should be able to prioritize their injuries and medical needs accordingly. This is a fast-paced, high patient acuity pediatric emergency department. The pediatric emergency department can reach up to 80 patient visits per day. Float requirements include floating within the department to adult, pediatric, and intermediate care settings.
