Job Summary The Associate Attorney will play a key role in handling sophisticated civil litigation matters from inception through resolution. Responsibilities • Independently manage a civil litigation caseload from initial pleadings through resolution • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation-related documents • Conduct legal research and prepare written memoranda to support case strategy • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials • Develop and execute effective litigation strategies in collaboration with partners and team members • Communicate regularly with clients, experts, and opposing counsel, including providing status reports • Ensure compliance with court rules, deadlines, and internal case management standards Qualifications • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school • Admission to the Connecticut State Bar or eligibility for admission via UBE score • 3 to 8 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or a related practice area • Experience drafting and arguing dispositive motions • Strong legal research, writing, and discovery skills • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management abilities Compensation & Benefits • Salary range: $105,000 to $130,000 per year, commensurate with experience • Medical, dental, and vision insurance • 401(k) retirement plan • Life insurance • Health Savings Account and Flexible Spending Account options • Flexible paid time off • Mobile phone reimbursement • Associate education and professional development program • Hybrid work flexibility to support work-life balance Apply today or email your resume to aj@jasurdagroup.com for immediate consideration.
