Job Description Job Description OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Chief of Legal Services, Attorney will provide direct legal representation (court appearances and legal/immigration proceedings) to victims of domestic violence in Westchester County. DUTIES: Provide legal advice, and representation (i.e. family law litigation, matrimonial actions, custody & visitation, child support, orders of protection, and immigration). Conduct client intake and offer trauma-informed legal advice, counsel, and (if needed) referrals. Manage caseload via continued communication with clients, court personnel, and partner agencies. Collaborate with the District Attorney’s Office, law enforcement, and other community agencies to advocate for survivors’ rights Maintain accurate records and case files. Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance legal knowledge, especially in domestic violence advocacy Engage in outreach and collaborate with community partners to provide comprehensive support to clients. REQUIREMENTS: 2 years of legal experience, preferably in family law, immigration or domestic violence-related cases. Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school License to practice law in New York State. Bilingual (Spanish) Commitment to serving diverse communities with empathy and cultural competence, while providing trauma-informed, client-centered legal services.
