Job Description Machinist, Greater New York City Area Are you energized by accurate and precise machining and assembly work? Do you get enthusiastic about complex problems? Can you create a sequence of operations, dimensions, and tolerances? Are you skillful using machine shop tools such as drill press, bandsaw, vertical machining centers and basic lathe, and in reading part drawings and prints? If you can answer these questions affirmatively, you should consider joining our client's team. They are (located in Hawthorne, NY) a worldwide manufacturer of leading-edge inspection equipment and an engineering solutions provider. These technologies serve the food, pharmaceutical, and medical device industries. They challenge seal and container integrity non-destructively and yield a quantitative result for package inspection. A motivated, dynamic, creative, and technically intelligent professional is being sought to provide machinist skills. Most of your work will be with Delrin, acrylic, and aluminum. Your knowledge and artful approach to creating the required parts will be essential for success. You must be detail-oriented and possess a focused work ethic. Candidates must meet these requirements and have these skills: Must have legal permission to work in the U.S. and have a valid passport. 3 - 5 years of machining experience Must be competent in programming CNC Machines - Multi-Axis Advanced Shop Math Skills Ability to read blueprints to determine machining operations to be performed. History of planning the sequence of operations, dimensions, and tolerances Understanding of cutting tools to be used, methods of holding and aligning work Knowledge of feeds and speeds for numerous materials (including but not limited to: aluminum, acrylic, steel, stainless steel, and Delrin) Placing reference line center points and line parts, including those which involve complex contours, compound angles, and exacting tolerances. Working with precision measuring instruments in projecting and laying out angular and linear dimensions Complete independent machine setup for production without assistance Check parts for conformity to blueprint specifications Diagnose process problems and apply appropriate corrections Accurately complete required paperwork In addition to the above, the ability to Program using CAMWorks is helpful. Resume, references, diplomas/certificates, case studies of past success, interview, and quantitative skills assessment will be used for determining qualification.
