A Direct Support Professional position offers:

Direct Support Professional Job Description:

+ Are you energetic, caring, positive, willing to share your hobbies & interests, and compassionate

+ Play an integral role in the lives of the people we support by providing direct assistance in all aspects of daily living.

+ Community Based Services is a non-profit organization providing supports to people in the Hudson Valley region since 1981.

Direct Support Professional - Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Tasks could include providing direct personal care or assistance with: hygiene, housekeeping, laundry, cooking, medication administration and appointments, behavioral interventions, etc.

+ Enabling the greatest level of independence possible and the best quality of life as one is able to experience.

+ Engage participation in recreation, social, and skill-building activities as appropriate.

+ Complete documentation electronically as required.

Direct Support Professional Qualifications/Skills:

+ HS/GED

+ Valid driver's license

+ Prior experience working with people with developmental and intellectual disabilities preferred.

+ Effective oral and written skills in English.

+ Must work positively within a team environment.
