Richmond Community Services, a leading non-profit provider of support services for Westchester County's developmentally, intellectually, and behaviorally challenged individuals are seeking Direct Support Professionals (DPS) to work in our community residences and Yonkers Intermediate Care Facility (ICF). Who We Are: Richmond Community Services is a nonprofit organization that has been serving the needs of individuals with intellectual, developmental disabilities, and behavioral health needs. For nearly 50 years, our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) have been providing compassion, love, and support to our residents and their families. We are an extended network of trained professionals, dedicated support staff, volunteers, caregivers, and donors. What We Believe: We support adults with varying needs to lead meaningful lives. We believe that everyone deserves to live with dignity and pride. Our home-like settings at various Westchester locations enable our residents to grow and flourish while enjoying recreational and community activities. What We Do: Together with knowledge, technology, medical, educational and rehabilitative resources we empower the individuals we support to maximize their abilities, often beyond expectations. Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) play a central role in providing assistance, safety, and care to help our residents reach their goals. Examples of daily responsibilities are: + Supporting daily living skills (e.g. personal hygiene, food preparation, housekeeping, laundry, shopping). DSP providers ensure residents are appropriately dressed at all times. + Maintaining close and consistent observation of individuals' physical conditions and report any unusual changes in feeding, sleeping patterns, adverse medication reaction, etc., or any unusual occurrences in the environment in order to implement an appropriate plan of action. + DSPs are expected to advocate & provide support to individuals in their homes and while in the community (i.e. medical appointments, recreation activities, etc.). Providing support as needed and maintain safety for individuals served while outside health-related appointments or recreational activities. + Performing assigned household chores, that include but are not limited to: cooking, cleaning, laundry, food shopping and maintenance-related duties performed both inside and outside of the residence. + As a DSP, you are expected to immediately report to a Supervisor, Manager, QIDP, ABSS, or Nurse any suspicions of verbal, physical, psychological, sexual abuse, or neglect of individuals served. + Reads documentation from the Electronic Medical Record and Medication Administration Record and reports errors or missing data to the Supervisor/Manager and enters appropriate data during the assigned shift. + Most schedules require alternate weekends. Most positions require a driver's license in good standing for 3+ years. Most facilities are not accessible to public transportation. + Training provided; Benefits for 20+ hours/week schedule; M/D/V 403B Contributions and Tuition Reimbursement. Salary based on experience - $16-$18.86/hour Richmond Community Services requires all employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
